Privacy Policy for DM Automation
Effective date: October 22, 2026
Last updated: October 22, 2026
DM Automation is an application operated by Isabel Donaldson ("we", "us") for use with two Instagram accounts that we own and operate: @homeschool.haul and @bower_educateprivately. The app is for our own use only. It is not offered to, or used on behalf of, any other person or business.
What the app does
When someone comments a specific keyword (for example, PLACEMENT or SALES) on a post on one of the two accounts above, the app automatically sends that person a direct message containing the link they asked for, and posts a short public reply confirming the message was sent.
Information the app receives
Through the Instagram API, the app receives the following information about comments on our own accounts:
- The text of the comment
- The username of the person who commented
- The comment ID and the time the comment was posted
How the information is used
This information is used for one purpose only: to check whether the comment contains a keyword and, if it does, to send the requested link by direct message.
To prevent duplicate messages, the app keeps a processing log containing the comment ID, the account, the keyword matched, and the time of the reply. This log contains no message content beyond what is needed to prevent duplicates.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share comment or user data with third parties.
- We do not use this data for advertising.
- We do not send direct messages to anyone who has not commented a keyword on one of the two accounts above.
- We do not collect data from any account other than @homeschool.haul and @bower_educateprivately.
Data retention and deletion
Processing logs are kept only as long as needed to operate the app and prevent duplicate replies. If you would like any data connected with your Instagram username removed, contact us at hello@homeschoolhaul.com with your Instagram username and we will delete it.
Third parties
The app operates entirely through Meta's Instagram platform and APIs and is subject to Instagram's Terms of Use and Meta's Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.

Site privacy policy
Effective Oct 17, 2026.
Homeschool Haul is written for parents and guardians. We collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Newsletter signups: your email address, your confirmation that you are a parent or guardian 18 or older and, only if you choose to add them, the birth years of your kids (year only, no names or full dates). We use them to pick deals that fit your kids. That is all.
- Emails you send us: whatever you choose to include.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your email address.
- We don't use advertising trackers or cookies on this site.
- We self-host our fonts, so your browser doesn't contact font services when you visit.
Who processes your data
Signups are stored with Resend, our email provider, and used only to send The Haul. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard web request data (like IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, we will update this page first.
Children
This site and newsletter are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them (COPPA). If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Every newsletter will include an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to see or delete your data at any time, including under California law (CCPA/CPRA), by emailing hello@homeschoolhaul.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
