Math-U-See placement help when leaving Singapore Math
If you are moving from Singapore Math to Math-U-See, use the official Math-U-See placement tool to check where to begin. It asks about the concepts your child has mastered and offers example problems for clarity. Review its recommendation before choosing materials, and ask a Placement Specialist if the result leaves questions.
A placement questionnaire for the program you are moving into.

Math-U-See describes its curriculum as skills-based. Its individual placement tool uses questions and example problems to help identify a suitable level. Keep your child’s recent work available when you use it.
If you want to review the Singapore Math book you are leaving, its placement tests page explains the differences between edition tests and recommends reviewing the scope and sequence. That is background for reviewing prior work, not a conversion to a Math-U-See level.
Steps
- Open the official Math-U-See placement questionnaire and work through its questions with your child.
- Use the example problems when a yes/no answer is unclear.
- Review the recommendation and materials links, then ask a Placement Specialist if you need help.

Questions parents ask
Which Math-U-See level follows our Singapore Math book?
This guide gives no automatic book-to-level conversion. The official Math-U-See tool checks your child’s current understanding and provides a placement recommendation.
Where can I ask about the result?
The tool offers a “Need Help?” button and access to a Placement Specialist for further guidance.
